Does anything get fitted to my car?
No. The car stays on the ground; the Pod’s rails run along the ground either side of it and the shell closes over it without touching it.
Do I have to line anything up?
No. The green lines you see on the ground are the Pod’s alignment lasers. They mark exactly where its rails will run, just outside your tyres on each side. You park as normal; the valet pushes the Pod to your car and nudges it until both lines are parallel to it. Deploy stays locked until they are.
Who opens it when I leave?
You do. When you are back at your car you tap Retract on your own phone; it never opens while you are away.
Does it close and lock by itself?
Yes. Once the valet holds Deploy, the shell closes, the end wall seals and every joint locks automatically, and the climate system starts.
Will it fit my car?
The Pod sizes itself to the car: up to 6.25 m long, 2.10 m wide and 2.15 m tall. That is every passenger car, luxury SUV and full-size pickup. The GMC Hummer EV, dual-rear-wheel trucks and high-roof vans do not fit.
Is it climate-controlled?
Yes. Each Pod has an AC unit on its roof, filtered fans circulating the air from a low intake to a high exhaust, and dew-point control against condensation. It runs on the Pod’s own solar-charged battery.
What does it cost?
$100 an hour with a three-hour minimum, plus a 20% valet gratuity included at checkout — $360 minimum for three hours. Everything is paid in the app, so no cash changes hands.
Who gets the money?
The 20% gratuity goes in full to the valet who ran your Pod. The hourly fee is shared between the venue and OverHalo, which owns and maintains the Pods.
What does a venue pay?
Nothing. OverHalo places the Pods free. Venues sign in to their own venue portal for the details.
Can I watch my car?
Yes. The app shows a live view, the lock state and the temperature inside, and you can share the live view.
Where does the power come from?
Its own lithium battery, topped up by solar panels on its roof. When it is not in use it plugs into shore power in its storage bay and recharges overnight. There is never a cord at the door.
Does it work in winter?
OverHalo places Pods in warm, sunny locations only. There is no winter or snow version.
What happens if someone is inside when it closes?
It will not move. Presence sensing checks first and keeps checking while it is closed, and every moving edge stops and reverses on contact.
What if the battery runs low?
The app warns the valet long before it matters, and a reserve is kept that only retraction can use, so the shell can always open. A manual release inside and a valet key outside open it without power.
Can I have Pods at my event?
Yes. OverHalo Events delivers Pods to any flat, paved site — a VIP lot, a show field, a private estate — with our own crew as the valets. Ask on the events page.
Can I book ahead?
Yes. Reserve a Pod in the app before you arrive and the valet has it waiting at your spot.
Is it hail-proof?
We do not claim that. The panels are impact-resistant polycarbonate, but no hail test has been run yet.
When is it available?
OverHalo is in development. The first Pods go to a small number of flagship venues.
